Transite HT is a high density, non-asbestos board used in a wide variety of applications where a combination of high strength, thermal stability, electrical insulation, or machinability is required. This material is hydraulically pressed into monolithic boards from various non-asbestos materials, non-ceramic fibers, and Portland cement. From here, the board is then air-cured and sanded to a 24-grit finish. Used in heat environments with temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, it is engineered to shrink less when put under these conditions compared to former non-asbestos formulas.

This material is most commonly used in the foundry industry for various applications, including core, drying, induction furnace casings, and flask liners. Some electrical applications include , Arc chutes, busbar supports, electrode arm insulators, and much more. Additionally, Transite HT is used for spacers, supports, load bearing gasketing, and various machined components used for OEM uses.

Transite HT Advantages:

  • Transite HT is non-conductive, non-combustible and has low thermal conductivity. A filter bed press creates a board with isotropic properties; equal strengths in all directions for dimensional stability. The board will not delaminate since it is monolithic. Transite HT is very durable and offers high impact and wear resistance, it will not powder or chip. It has good resistance, without coatings, to alkalis and solvents, and will not rot or mold when exposed to prolonged dampness.
