A high-density, non-asbestos board used in a wide variety of applications where a combination of high strength, thermal stability, electrical insulation or machinability is required. The material is rated for up to 1000º F and has a density of 98 pcf.

Transite 1000 is a non-asbestos, monolithic fiber cement industrial boards used in environments up to 1000°F where high strength is the primary concern. These fiber cement boards are used in the foundry industry for flask liners, core, drying and carry plates, and induction furnace casings. Electrical applications include busbar supports, aluminum pot insulation, and electrode arm insulators. Transite 1000 is also used as load bearing gasketing, spacers, supports, and machined parts for OEM applications.

Transite 1000 is a high-density, non-asbestos board used in a wide variety of applications where a combination of high strength, thermal stability, electrical insulation, or machinability is required.

As one of our premier machinable insulation materials, Transite 1000 is perfect for industrial oven insulation, press platen insulation, glass manufacturing, kiln insulation, high temp insulation, induction furnaces, crucible insulation, molten aluminum insulation, bushings, washers, spacers, covers, and tops.

Transite 1000 Typical Applications:

  • High Strength - Load-bearing gaskets, spacers and supports; press plates; machine guards; laboratory benchtops and fume hood linings.

  • Electrical - Busbar supports; transformer spacers; terminal boxes and strips; electrical coil supports; arc shields; collars and bushings; aluminum pot insulation; steel arm insulators; and component mounting plates.

  • Thermal - Foundry core plates; induction and muffle furnace walls; industrial and baking oven shelving; soldering plates; splash guards; and welding shields.
