MONALITE® is a technical calcium silicate material designed for high temperature insulation and non-ferrous metal handling applications. It is commonly used in aluminum casting, foundry operations, furnace systems, and other industrial process environments requiring reliable thermal insulation and dimensional stability.
MONALITE® can be used in applications including billet and ingot casting systems, transition plates, floats, spouts, launders, dams, head boxes, continuous casters, hotface linings, and structural insulation systems. Its non-wetting properties make it especially well suited for contact with molten non-ferrous metals at temperatures up to 1000°C.
MONALITE® combines low thermal conductivity with excellent thermal shock resistance, fracture toughness, and wear resistance. The material is non-combustible, asbestos free, and resistant to reaction with common lubricants such as boron nitride and graphite. It provides dependable performance in applications requiring both high thermal and mechanical load capacity.
MONALITE® materials can be machined, cut, drilled, and fabricated using standard wood or metal processing equipment with specialized tooling. The homogeneous fine-pored structure allows for clean, precision machining and close tolerances in both shop and field fabrication environments.
MONALITE® is available in multiple grades including MONALITE®-M1T and MONALITE®-M1AT to meet varying density and performance requirements. It is designed to provide long-term durability, structural stability, and efficient thermal insulation in demanding industrial applications.
